Set of chairs: Miniature sculptures of chairs carved in wood | Valentina Grisales

Musical chairs gathers bodies to teach them how to sit in a circle, calling them to dance, to ritual, to the pure act of play. Over time, bodies withdraw, become absent; yet, in this absence, they are transformed. Whoever claims the last chair wins—until the circle is reassembled, filled, inhabited, and everything begins anew.

The chair as an object, the act of emptiness, and human memory—objects with legs, backs, and arms that shape themselves to the body like living matter, molds that hold an endless memory of the inhabited self.
