Valentina Grisales: poetic art on memory, emotionality and daily life in Colombia

Observing herself as she inhabits the world and leaving traces of that existence through drawing, color, and poetry is a fundamental part of her artistic creation process. Her work reflects on the close relationship between emotion and memory through graphic and literary analogies, inspired by elements found in her surroundings.

She uses writing as a primary creative practice, later translating it into gestural compositions and visual metaphors, employing symbols and traces that tell intimate stories without disclosing their circumstances. Her drawings often represent everyday and domestic patterns as a way of capturing the complexity and beauty of life in this world.

Valentina lives and works in Manizales, Colombia.
